Misango is a playable fighter in ARMS released in the Version 4.0.0 update. He was released with three ARMS that all use the Poison attribute, which was also released in the update.
Appearance
Misango's design appears to take heavy influence from Mayan culture. He wears a golden headband and a blue shirt and shorts, the shirt being adorned with a golden medal that depicts Misango's logo. Misango's ARMS appear to be made from some type of woven fabric (likely his namesake, miçanga bracelets).
Backstory
"Misango is a skilled fighter who is fiercely devoted to his homeland, and the power of the Misanga. During a fight, he channels that power with the help of the little woven sprite that hovers at his side. His reasons for competing in the Grand Prix are simple—to prove that the Misangan fighting technique is superior to all others...and to win!" —Official description
Abilities
The main draw of Misango is his spirit companion; if Misango guards long enough, the spirit drops in front of Misango and acts as a pillar blocking attacks. If Misango walks into the spirit pillar or charges his ARMS long enough, the spirit will fuse with him, powering Misango up with one of three different types of masks. The mask attribute that Misango can gain depends upon the color of the spirit when they fuse. The spirit's color will regularly change so long as it is floating beside Misango.
- Red makes Misango resistant to punches while jumping, dashing, or punching; he also gains 50% damage reduction when a punch is resisted, increases ARM girth and general size, increases grab damage to 180, but decreases speed on the ground and in the air as well as overall jump performance.
- Blue increases Misango's mobility both in the air and on the ground, but decreases ARM girth and grab damage to 150. He can also utilize a super dash by holding Jump after landing and immediately dashing in any direction.
- Yellow fills the Rush Gauge at a faster rate, and blocks punches automatically when activating a Rush, but decreases movement speed and decreases grab damage to 150.
Misango can change/remove the current mask he wears if he charges fully again, guards for long enough that the spirit becomes a pillar in front of him, or gets knocked down.
Playstyle
Likely the most technical fighter in ARMS, Misango can fit almost any matchup. His totem pillar gives him a strong option to stop pressure while staying safe, and poking from behind it. However his true strength lies in his masks.
Red Mask allows him to push and bully opponents into a corner, similar to Master Mummy, while Blue Mask allows him to evade opponent's punches and create openings, similar to Ribbon Girl and Ninjara. Finally Yellow Mask gives him a big incentive to poke constantly, allowing him to charge rush much more quickly, like Helix.
Misango can also use the Yellow Mask to create fear with the threat of an invincible rush, and bait predictable options he can punish.
ARM Recommendations
More so than almost any other fighter, Misango's ARM choice must change to fit different matchups. However, having an ARM that is able to curve around the totem is pretty useful for him. These are some good choices

Misango is typically considered to be a low-tier character, commonly being ranked just above Byte & Barq and Master Mummy.

- Ripha - A Misango and Ninjara main from Germany who is often considered to be the best player in Europe. He placed 5th in Quarantined Rapport 2, 1st in Vortex Gallery 2021's EU bracket, and 1st in EUAC's King of the Hill.
- AstroNinja - A Misango and Dr. Coyle main from the United States who is often considered to be the best player in North America and potentially the world. He placed 1st in Quarantined Rapport 2, the ARMS North American Online Open (April 2020), and Customs Clash Championship.
- Gryffical (Inactive) - A Misango, Master Mummy, and Dr. Coyle player from Canada who is commonly considered to be among the best players in North America. He placed 2nd in Quarantined Rapport, 4th in the April 2020 ARMS NA Online Open, and 7th in the ARMS North American Open (October 2020).

- Misango is the first character whose default ARMS all have the same attribute and the only character whose Defaults contain Poison ARMS.
- Misango is a pun on miçanga, a type of bracelet that represents good luck and friendship. This is fitting because making bracelets is stated as one of Misango's hobbies and Misango's extendable ARMS look like miçangas.
- Misango is one of the fighters whose two victory animations reflect the state he is in when the battle is over, namely whether he is wearing a mask or not (the other being Min Min with her dragon ARM).
- Misango's spirit companion has no official name.
- Because of his Spirit companion beside him, Misango has the most abilities despite the color his spirit changes into.
