As his name implies, his visual appearance revolves around springs. Along with Ribbon Girl, Spring Man was one of the first two fighters to be revealed for ARMS.
Appearance
Spring Man appears mostly human except for his spiraled irises and his metallic, spring-like arms. He has shiny, light blue hair which is curled to resemble a spring. He wears a white athletic shirt, gray shorts, and red sneakers. He also wears a red chest plate featuring his logo.
Backstory
"Spring Man is the newest ARMS fighter to join the tournament. He represents his own gym and loves weight training and pizza: he can eat 12 pizzas in one go." —Official Description
Spring Man is a young ARMS athlete who trains at Spring Gym. For many years, Spring Man has dreamed of defeating Max Brass and becoming champion of the ARMS Grand Prix. His favorite food is Pizza, and he is often seen eating it in official art. Spring Man has a confident and enthusiastic personality. He takes a particular pride in his spring-like, pompadour hairstyle.
According to the ARMS Direct, an interview with Spring Man revealed that while he was initially surprised at his gift of ARMS, he later came to the realization that they were "actually pretty rad".
Abilities
Primary Ability: Spring Man’s primary ability is called Deflect. This ability allows him to parry incoming attacks, giving him added time to counter and punish. Deflect is performed by holding the dash or jump button and releasing at any time before max charge. If holding jump, you have to wait until Spring Man touches the floor to be able to activate the ability. Deflect is mainly used to bait and counter punches, cover wake-up options and defend against aggressive opponents.
Secondary Ability: Spring Man’s secondary ability is called Indomitable Spirit. This ability is a special ability that kicks in once Spring Man is reduced to 25% HP. He glows red, and his arms stay permanently charged. This mode allows spring man to make amazing comebacks, utilizing the raw power of the Toaster and combo potential of the Boomerang and Tribolt.
Signature ARMS
Toaster is a fire element glove arm, dealing 90 damage uncharged and 130 damage while charged. It is a good arm for dealing quick and easy damage. In rush mode, the toaster upgrades to rapid fire, ending in a final flame imbued hit that deals extra damage.
Boomerang is a wind element boomerang arm that deals 80 damage uncharged and 90 damage while charged. The arm blows the opponent up into the air with a gust of wind to allow for a followup attack or rush confirm. While in rush, the boomerang upgrades into a cyclone attack that deals damage while blowing the opponent into the air
Tribolt is a stun element tri-shot arm that deals 70 damage uncharged and 110 damage while charged. A charged Tribolt allows for a grab followup at medium to close range, as well as a rush confirm. They are also good for dealing quick damage and limiting mobility. During rush, the Tribolt upgrades to rapid fire, ending in a final three shot attack that knocks the opponent back.
