The '''ARMS North American Online Open''' was an official online ARMS tournament held on April 4th, 2020 by Nintendo of America. The event was first revealed on March 23rd, 2020 along with the announcement that each member of Top 8 would be granted 2500 My Nintendo Gold Points (equivalent to $25 USD).  
The ARMS North American Online Open was an official online ARMS tournament held on April 4th, 2020 by Nintendo of America. The event was first revealed on March 23rd, 2020 along with the announcement that each member of Top 8 would be granted 2500 My Nintendo Gold Points (equivalent to $25 USD). While it was never officially confirmed, the tournament was likely held to tie-in with the announcement that an ARMS Character would be coming to [[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]] in June along with ARMS being free to play for 10 days via Nintendo Switch Online. The tournament is currently the largest ARMS event of all time surpassing the 2nd largest, [[EVO Japan 2018]]'s 318 entrants by more than 500 players. The tournament was won by [[AstroNinja0]] with [[GoreMagala]] coming in 2nd and [[JMCANADA]] coming in 3rd.

This article lists offical major ARMS competitive events and tournaments hosted by Nintendo over the years.

Niconico Chokaigi 2017

On 2017-04-29 and 2017-04-30 in Japan, four ARMS tournaments were held at Niconico Chokaigi. Each tournament included a maximum of 64 players. Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Ninjara, Master Mummy, Min Min, Mechanica, and Helix were the available fighters.

At the end of the tournament, Kosuke Yabuki appeared to present the winners with ARMS T-shirts as rewards.

ARMS Open Invitational

The ARMS Open Invitational was a tournament hosted by Nintendo at their E3 booth in June 2017. Four of the competitors in the tournament were Alex "CaliPower" Valle, Kelsy "SuperGirlKels" Medeiros, Daniel “Tafokints” Lee, and Marie-Laure “Kayane” Norindr, and the rest were four qualifying E3 attendees who visited the Nintendo booth between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. PT on 2017-06-14. The tournament was won by Zerk with SkywardWing finishing in 2nd place and GamingWithMe and SuperGirlKels finishing in 3rd place.

At the conclusion of the event, Zerk was challenged to play against ARMS producer Kosuke Yabuki in an exhibition match. Mr. Yabuki won over Zerk 2-0.

The series lasted 2 seasons but was seemingly canceled in 2019, no reason was ever given by Nintendo of Japan. While the series was mainly for Japanese players, some prominent North American and European players such as Resolve, Esthri and Mileve were flown out to some of these events.

All finalists received a special piece of artwork signed by Kosuke Yabuki, Masaaki Ishikawa and Kenta Sato while Resolve also received a second piece of artwork signed by even more of the dev team.

The ARMS North American Online Open was an official online ARMS tournament held on April 4th, 2020 by Nintendo of America. The event was first revealed on March 23rd, 2020 along with the announcement that each member of Top 8 would be granted 2500 My Nintendo Gold Points (equivalent to $25 USD). While it was never officially confirmed, the tournament was likely held to tie-in with the announcement that an ARMS Character would be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in June along with ARMS being free to play for 10 days via Nintendo Switch Online. The tournament is currently the largest ARMS event of all time surpassing the 2nd largest, EVO Japan 2018's 318 entrants by more than 500 players. The tournament was won by AstroNinja0 with GoreMagala coming in 2nd and JMCANADA coming in 3rd.
