ARMS reveal

ARMS was the second new game to be shown during the event. It was shown along with 1-2 Switch during a segment introducing the motion control aspect of the Joy-con controllers. In the segment, Yoshiaki Koizumi presented it as a contrast to 1-2 Switch, describing it as a game with "depth, challenge, and replayability".

The trailer itself began with a live action segment in a dark room with a dirt floor illuminated by a dim light. A muscular businessman and a young schoolgirl approach the light and stare each other down. After the two each other, the girl raises her arm, and both arms transform into ribbons with a Sparkies at their ends. After that, the man slams his arms down, turning them into springs with Toasters.

The two proceed to throw punches at one another until the video moves in slow motion as the two are about to hit each other. Spring Man and Ribbon Girl appear behind them and the video moves into a CG segment of the two fighters throwing punches. As Spring Man's punch goes between Ribbon Girl's legs, the trailer transitions to actual gameplay of the two fighting in Spring Stadium. The video then cuts between the man and the girl throwing punches with their Joy-con and the fighters punching in-game.

As the trailer nears the end, a montage of gameplay, revealing Master Mummy, Ninjara, and Mechanica as fighters, and Mausoleum, Ninja College, and DNA Lab as stages. The final shot is features Spring Man diving down into a swarm of punches from all the fighters revealed in the trailer preparing to throw a punch, and as his Toaster hits the screen, it cuts to the game's logo.

After the trailer, Kosuke Yabuki appeared on stage to describe the game and its controls. He then commentated a short, pre-recorded match between Spring Man and Ribbon Girl.

At the end of the segment, Mr. Yabuki announced ARMS to be released in Spring 2017.
