A segment in the April 12th, 2017 Nintendo Direct focused on ARMS. The segment introduced Biff, detailed the ARMS Getter mode, and revealed Min Min and her stage. The official ARMS Twitter account went live immediately after the Direct.

The ARMS Direct on May 17th, 2017 focused almost entirely on ARMS, revealing several new ARMS, new stages, various modes, and three characters (Twintelle, Byte & Barq, and Kid Cobra).
