A punch is a method of dealing damage in ARMS. It is performed by physically punching using motion controls, pushing the ZL and ZR or A and B buttons while using button controls and by pushing the right or bottom buttons using the single joy-con controls. All fighters are capable of punching.

Properties

Punches can be curved by tilting an outstretched Joycon when using motion controls, and moving the control sticks while using either button controls or single joy-con controls.

A single handed punch can break a grab and guarding can block a punch. Punching an opponent's ARM a few times will disable it, allowing for an opportunity to attack.

The traveling path of a punch depends on what ARMS the player has equipped. Some punches may travel in a straight path, curve, bounce or even travel on the ground.
