The basic mode of attacking. A punch is performed by air punching using motion controls, pushing the ZL and ZR or A and B buttons while using button controls and by pushing the right or bottom buttons using the single joy-con controls.

Punches can be curved. Performing this is done by curving your hand using motion controls, and moving the control sticks while using either button controls or single joy-con controls.
A single handed punch can break a grab and guarding can block a punch. Punching an opponent's ARM a few times will disable it, allowing for an opportunity to attack.
The travelling path of a punch depends on what ARMS the player has equipped. Some punches may travel in a straight path, curve, bounce or even travel on the ground.
All fighters are capable of punching.
