There are several different types of users on ARMS Institute, each with its own rights and responsibilities.

To apply for a promotion, use the Applications page.

See Special:ListGroupRights for full details about the rights assigned to each group.

Bureaucrats

Bureaucrats have the ability to change the rights of other users.

Promotion

A user may only be promoted to the bureaucrats group by unanimous vote of existing bureaucrats. A user cannot be promoted to a bureaucrat without first serving as an administrator.

Current List

Administrators

Administrators have the ability to block other users and unblock themselves, edit protected pages, delete and undelete pages, and globally search and replace.

Promotion

A user may be promoted to the administrators group by unanimous vote of existing administrators or by a bureaucrat. Candidates should be high-volume contributors with a willingness to work cooperatively with other users. Previous experience as a wiki administrator is preferred.

Current List

Patrollers

Patrollers are trusted users who have demonstrated their ability to make high-quality edits and improve edits other users have made. Their edits are automatically marked as patrolled, and they can mark other edits as patrolled or roll them back.

Promotion

A user may be promoted to the patrollers group with the endorsement of an admin or another patroller.

Current List

Autoconfirmed

Autoconfirmed users are users who have held an account for a short period of time. There are certain limitations on autoconfirmed users, such as the inability to edit protected pages or delete pages.

Promotion

Users are automatically promoted to the autoconfirmed group after holding an account for 30 minutes.

Current List

See Special:ListUsers.
