Kholdstare is an ARMS player and commentator from the United States who mains Kid Cobra. He is most known for playing primarily with Kid Cobra's default ARMS.
Kholdstare first became interested with ARMS after watching the ARMS Direct on May 17th, 2017 and later bought the game on release. He chose to play as Kid Cobra through his first attempt at Grand Prix and happened to click with his playstyle and design. Later, throughout Fall of 2017, Kholdstare played in many of Schkrimps' events such as Ramen Bowl, Fight Club, and Mega League Monday. After the first Ramen Bowl on August 17th, 2017, he joined Team Chroma for ARMS and would later commentate their event series TCM Color Crash.
On January 13th, 2018, Kholdstare took 4th at G7 ARMS Online, being the second highest placing Kid Cobra player behind Jean Marc who placed 2nd. Throughout the rest of the year, he also traveled to many offline events throughout the United States. In Spring, Kholdstare attended Norcal Regionals 2018 and placed 2nd and at the start of Summer he placed 9th in both the Defaults and Customs brackets held at Smash'N'Splash 4. On August 3rd, 2018, EVO 2018 took place in which he placed 13th in ARMS. After this event, he parted ways with Team Chroma though at the end of the month he joined IlluZion Gaming as their second ARMS player.[1] Kholdstare later placed 1st at Ultimatum on December 29th, 2018.
In late 2018 and throughout 2019, Kholdstare continued to commentate the Color Crash series alongside a few other events including a few Champions of the Era events. At the beginning of the Summer of 2019, he placed 7th at Smash'N'Splash 5 and also commentated there. He secured multiple Scrapstar Series wins throughout the Spring and Summer, being the only dedicated Kid Cobra player to do so in the NA series. In the later portion of the year (and early part of 2020), Kholdstare commentated the first three ARMS NA Online PR Invitationals, streaming the first two and co-casting the third alongside Layla. In December, exactly one year later from the first event, Kholdstare placed 1st in the Defaults bracket at Ultimatum 2. After that, he took a break from the game competitively and later left IlluZion Gaming on March 19th, 2021.
In mid-2022, as part of ARMS' 5th anniversary, Kholdstare was invited to take part in The Appetizer portion of Anniversary Armageddon in a grudge match against Mileve, with their match in particular being named "The Battle of Forever Rivals". Kholdstare was also involved in the planning of the event as a whole and co-hosted Default Derby Deluxe on Day 2 alongside Mileve.
Playstyle
Kholdstare most commonly utilizes Kid Cobra’s default ARMS: Slamamander, Hydra, and Coolerang. Starting soon after EVO 2018, Kholdstare also began using a set consisting of the Glusher, Chilla, and Boomerang

Trivia
- Kholdstare's tag originates from a boss' name in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
- In Version 5.1.0, the Gallery was added to the game alongside many official names for official ARMS artworks. One Kid Cobra focused piece was given the name "Cold Stare" which could possibly be a clever nod to Kholdstare or is just an incredible coincidence.
