Biff can give each fighter two possible intros for each opponent. The first corresponds solely to the opponents themselves, while the second usually corresponds to their stages, or some element of battle. It seems to be random which intro is used, as long as the match is on their stage.
The only exception to the rule is Max Brass, who only has one intro when fighting Spring Man (and always faces him in Match 1).
