We should make a community discussion space

We should make something like Wikipedia's Village Pump for general wiki discussion. Currently there isn't any real way for wiki editors to communicate, other than talk pages. It would be nice to have a space to talk about changes to the wiki. --XenonNSMB (talk) 13:27, 6 May 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sounds good to me. Would this just involve creating a page with a name like ARMS_Institute:Discussion and putting the NEWSECTIONLINK magic word on it so it works more like a Talk page? Gomtuu (talk) 14:26, 6 May 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Pretty much, yeah. We also might want to put a notice to clarify that it's for general wiki discussion as well. Nyargleblargle (talk) 19:04, 6 May 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Okay! I created a Discussion page. Gomtuu (talk) 19:25, 6 May 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Great! Thanks. --XenonNSMB (talk)

Should anything else be changed for the main page redesign?

I've modified Gomtuu's main page redesign a bit to add characters and stages boxes. Here it is. Should anything else be changed before putting the redesign in place? --XenonNSMB (talk) 02:10, 7 May 2017 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hi!! Very late, I know, but I come from other fighting games and I have been playing ARMS with the community since 2017 and been super absorbed.
Overall I think the Fighters and Stages pages are well designed and have good contents inside.
It would be nicer if the ARMS section was less bloated. Maybe just have an image of the fully unlocked ARMS graph, and then clicking on any ARM directing you to its specific page? Again, the information is exactly what's needed and very helpful.
However, coming from the MAIN page of the website, it is odd to put the most important information into tabs on the left side, no?
I believe if you put the "Game Topics" list in the center (Roughly under where it says "Welcome to ARMS Institute!" in a Horizontal list it would be easier to see, while putting the current contents on the Main Page under this new, moved list position.
Also, I think it would be very nice to have new tabs dedicated to universal/ "advanced techniques" players have found over time, such as how if you pivot the movement stick left to right, then grab, your grabs are much larger, and other, more advanced techniques, even down to specific character tricks.
Lastly I think making the website text bigger overall would also be nice. Coming from other wikis like Dustloop, Mizuumi, Supercombo, Dreamcancel, etc. the text on this website in particular can be a bit harder to read. Joeman (talk) 01:25, 27 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
If you have suggestions for how to rearrange the main page, you can create a sandbox page in your userspace with any changes. I can then copy it over to the main page.
Unfortunately, there's not much community left around to discuss major site changes, but I can do more minor updates. Prod (talk) 21:17, 4 February 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
