The '''ARMS Japan Grand Prix''' was an official Japanese ''ARMS'' tournament series held by Nintendo of Japan. The series lasted 2 seasons but was seemingly canceled in 2019, no reason was ever given by Nintendo of Japan. While the series was mainly for Japanese players, some prominent North American and European players such as [[Resolve]], [[Esthri]] and [[Mileve]] were flown out to some of these events. The event was first revealed on March 23rd, 2020 along with the announcement that each member of Top 8 would be granted 2500 My Nintendo Gold Points (equivalent to $25 USD). While it was never officially confirmed, the tournament was likely held to tie-in with the announcement that an ''ARMS'' Character would be coming to [[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]] in June along with ''ARMS'' being free to play for 10 days via Nintendo Switch Online. The tournament is currently the largest ''ARMS'' event of all time, surpassing the then-largest [[EVO Japan 2018]]'s 318 entrants by more than 500 players. Ultimate]], Splatoon 2 and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 while second, third and fourth place received 2500 My Nintendo Gold Points (equivalent to $25 USD). Unlike the [[ARMS North American Online Open (April 2020)]], Nintendo of America hosted an official stream for this event on their YouTube, Twitch and Twitter accounts featuring Coney, EE and Jordan Kent on commentary. Top 4 of the event was streamed by Nintendo with Jordan Kent, EE, and Coney returning as commentary. This article lists official major competitive ARMS events and tournaments hosted by Nintendo over the years.

Niconico Chokaigi 2017

On 2017-04-29 and 2017-04-30 in Japan, four ARMS tournaments were held at Niconico Chokaigi. Each tournament included a maximum of 64 players. Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Ninjara, Master Mummy, Min Min, Mechanica, and Helix were the available fighters.

At the end of the tournament, Kosuke Yabuki appeared to present the winners with ARMS T-shirts as rewards.

The ARMS Open Invitational was a tournament hosted by Nintendo at their E3 booth in June 2017. The tournament was won by Zerk with SkywardWing finishing in 2nd place and GamingWithMe and SuperGirlKels finishing in 3rd place.

The ARMS Japan Grand Prix was an official Japanese ARMS tournament series held by Nintendo of Japan. The series lasted 2 seasons but was seemingly canceled in 2019, no reason was ever given by Nintendo of Japan. While the series was mainly for Japanese players, some prominent North American and European players such as Resolve, Esthri and Mileve were flown out to some of these events. The tournament series was won by Pega in 2017 and Shateau in 2018.

ARMS US & Canada Online Open was an online major official ARMS tournament held on March 31th, 2018 by Nintendo of America. 8 players qualified via Ranked Matches during March 8th-18th. The tournament ended with Resolve winning a close game 5 last round set against Gryffical after a draw in round 3. The Nintendo UK ARMS Grand Prix at MCM 2018 was an official offline ARMS tournament held on May 25th, 2018 by Nintendo UK in London. In addition to unique info cards on players and other game-related content on the event stream, the tournament featured a Grand Prix championship belt for the winner. Tournaments for Pokken Tournament DX, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Rocket League were also held at MCM with exhibition matches being shown off for Mario Tennis Aces as well. The ARMS tournament ended with Jr winning, Esthri placing 2nd, and TMoGenius getting 3rd.

The ARMS North American Online Open (April 2020) was an official online ARMS tournament held on April 4th, 2020 by Nintendo of America. The event was first revealed on March 23rd, 2020 along with the announcement that each member of Top 8 would be granted 2500 My Nintendo Gold Points (equivalent to $25 USD). The bracket was organized by a team of Battlefy staff alongside the help of Era (a prominent online TO for the ARMS scene). The event was first revealed on July 27th, 2020 as part of the NintendoVS summer series of events. First place received download codes for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 2 and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 while second, third and fourth place received 2500 My Nintendo Gold Points (equivalent to $25 USD).
